What is the  International Summer School?

Babylon Summer Schools offer something for everyone.  Young Learners from 12-17 years old can follow our summer programme here in the heart of the historic city of Salisbury.   What we offer is an exciting programme of lessons and activities, planned by a management team with over 30 years’ experience of running Young Learner courses.

Our programmes offer 15 hours of morning lessons each week and an exciting choice of afternoon and evening activities and weekend trips.
Our 1, 2, 3 or 4 week courses will combine English learning with activities and excursions to help you develop your confidence in using English both inside and outside the classroom.  It will also be a great opportunity for you to make friends with young people of the same age from around the world.  Staying with one of our experienced host families means that you are immersed in English life and language 24 hours a day!

Our young students’ comfort and safety are very important to us and we will do our best to ensure that everything runs smoothly.  All our staff are fully qualified and vetted in accordance with British law and the requirements of the British Council and English UK and there will always be a sympathetic person you can turn to if you have a problem.
A full programme of social events, excursions, arts, drama, music and sports will mean that there is never a dull moment and will ensure that you have a summer holiday to remember for the rest of your life.

What happens when I arrive?

You will be tested on the first day at school and placed in a class appropriate to your age and level of English.  All lessons will allow you to build your confidence and practise all language skills.  Project work, based on your interests, forms part of all our lessons  Many of the excursions will link directly to the English which you have studied in class.  This approach to the teaching of English, which is known as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), ensures that lessons will be engaging and stimulating.
When there is no programmed excursion, there is a varied programme of activities: either sports, art or music organized by young and enthusiastic activity leaders.
In the evenings there will be a chance to socialize and relax at our quiz nights, movie nights, and karaoke and disco nights.
Private tennis coaching and horse riding lessons can also be arranged at additional cost.
